A street parade has been held in the DPRK’s capital Pyongyang, to
celebrate the scientists, technicians and officials who worked on the
country’s third nuclear test earlier this month. Residents in Pyongyang
have expressed their respect and admiration for those involved in the
program.
Pyongyang resident said, "I have realised how just is our nuclear test, watching the people upholding the will of the late DPRK leader. They are the greatest heroes who we admire no matter what."
People lined the streets waving flags, as buses carrying nuclear workers passed by. DPRK leader Kim Jong Un also invited them to a special reception. The parade comes as the US is negotiating with UN Security Council members for stronger sanctions to punish Pyongyang for its Feb. 12 nuclear test. The DPRK is already under international sanctions for conducting nuclear tests in 2006 and 2009.
