Ισραήλ: Απορρίφθηκε η προσφυγή κατά της αποφυλάκισης των 26 Παλαιστινίων

Άνοιξε ο δρόμος για την απελευθέρωση της πρώτης ομάδας 104 Παλαιστινίων φυλακισμένων στο Ισραήλ, καθώς δικαστήριο απέρριψε μια προσφυγή εναντίον του σχεδίου της χώρας να απελευθερώσει 26 παλαιστινίους κρατουμένους.
Η απελευθέρωση των Παλαιστινίων πραγματοποιείται στο πλαίσιο μιας συμφωνίας για την επανέναρξη των ισραηλινοπαλαιστινιακών ειρηνευτικών συνομιλιών, οι οποίες έχουν διακοπεί εδώ και σχεδόν τρία χρόνια. 
Από την άλλη, οικογένειες Ισραηλινών που έχουν σκοτωθεί από Παλαιστίνιους κατέθεσαν την προσφυγή στο δικαστήριο.


«Η καρδιά μας πηγαίνει στις οικογένειες των θυμάτων της τρομοκρατίας, τον πόνο των οποίων δεν μπορούμε να θεραπεύσουμε», αναφέρει το δικαστήριο, προσθέτοντας πάντως ότι οι αποφυλακίσεις είναι μια απόφαση της κυβέρνησης στην οποία δεν μπορεί να επέμβει.

  • High Court rejects terror victims' association petition against releasing prisoners 

 The High Court of Justice on Tuesday rejected the petition of the Almagor Terror Victims' Association to intervene and block the government's decision to release 26 Palestinian prisoners, including some of the worst terrorists with "blood on their hands" later in the day.

The court's approval, following a heated but affirmative vote by the government last week, removed the final barrier for pardoning the prisoners and releasing them.

At the outset of its opinion, the court said that it understood that the issues are "sensitive and complicated which lies at the heart of a public dispute."

The decision continued, "Despite this, all that is before us is the legal question of whether there is any basis to get involved in the government's decision to release prisoners in the framework of peace talks with the Palestinians."
