Η ομάδα των επιθεωρητών του ΟΗΕ δέχθηκε πυρά αγνώστων ελεύθερων σκοπευτών καθώς μετέβαινε χθες σε μια από τις τοποθεσίες όπου έχει καταγγελθεί πως έγινε επίθεση με τη χρήση χημικών όπλων από τις συριακές τακτικές δυνάμεις.
Ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του ΟΗΕ Μπαν Γκι Μουν, ο οποίος έστειλε την ομάδα στη Συρία μετά τις καταγγελίας περί χρήσης χημικών όπλων εναντίον αμάχων, κάλεσε όλες τις πλευρές που λαμβάνουν μέρος στη σύγκρουση να παράσχουν στην ομάδα ασφαλή διέλευση και πρόσβαση, σύμφωνα με την ανακοίνωση.

ReplyDeleteLe président de la République a fixé la position de Paris sur la Syrie, mardi 27 août, au moment où les Occidentaux se préparent à une intervention alliée contre le régime de Bachar Al-Assad.
"Le massacre chimique de Damas ne peut rester sans réponse", a affirmé François Hollande, mardi 27 août, à Paris, lors de la Conférence des ambassadeurs. "La France est prête à punir ceux qui ont pris la décision infâme de gazer des innocents" en Syrie, a assuré le chef de l'Etat.
Le président de la République a ainsi fixé la position de Paris, au moment où les Occidentaux se préparent à une intervention militaire alliée contre le régime de Bachar Al-Assad. Le chef de l'Etat s'est exprimé, mardi 27 août, devant les ambassadeurs français, dans le cadre solennel de la salle des fêtes de l'Elysée (Paris).
"Tout porte à croire que c'est le régime qui a commis cet acte abject qui le condamne définitivement aux yeux du monde", a estimé le président de la République, qui a dénoncé "une ignominie". "Cette guerre civile menace aujourd'hui la paix du monde", a jugé François Hollande.

El Gobierno sirio ha retrasado hasta mañana miércoles la segunda visita de los inspectores de la ONU a las localidades del país árabe donde se sospecha que se han utilizado armas químicas. Según el ministro de Exteriores sirio, Walid Mualem, el retraso se debe a que los rebeldes, que controlan varias zonas que rodean a la capital, Damasco, no son capaces de garantizar la seguridad del equipo de investigación. El lunes, los inspectores se vieron obligados a retrasar una inspección tras recibir disparos de un francotirador. Horas antes, varios proyectiles de mortero cayeron cerca del hotel Four Seasons, donde se alojan los expertos de Naciones Unidas.
Mualem ha vuelto a acusar a los rebeldes del ataque con armas químicas de la semana pasada, en el que, según Médicos sin Fronteras, murieron 355 personas. El ministro sirio retó a Occidente a demostrar que el régimen ha utilizado armas químicas y, ante la disposición de Estados Unidos y Reino Unido a lanzar una ofensiva militar contra el régimen, alertó que una intervención "solo serviría a los intereses de Israel y Al Qaeda".
"Tenemos dos opciones: rendirnos o defendernos con las opciones que tenemos a mano. Y creemos que la segunda opción es la mejor", ha afirmado el ministro sirio. Mualem se ha jactado de tener defensas que "sorprenderán" al mundo y ha dejado claro que un ataque extranjero no les hará cejar en su lucha contra los rebeldes.

Syrian opposition says Assad's forces drop phosphorus bombs near Aleppo...
ReplyDeleteSyria's opposition coalition said on Tuesday President Bashar Assad's forces had dropped phosphorus bombs and napalm on civilians in rural Aleppo on Monday, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens.
The alleged attack occurred as the United States and its European and Middle Eastern partners honed plans to punish Assad for a major poison gas attack last week on the suburbs of the capital, Damascus, that killed hundreds of civilians.
Video footage uploaded on the Internet, apparently of Monday's attack, showed doctors frantically smearing white cream on the reddened skin of several screaming people, many of them young boys.
"Assad's military aircraft have hit populated areas with the internationally prohibited phosphorus bombs and napalm," the opposition coalition said in a statement.
It was not possible to independently confirm the report. There have been previous unconfirmed reports of the use of phosphorus bombs by Assad's forces during Syria's conflict, now in its third year.

US official: Obama has not decided on military action in Syria...
ReplyDeleteUS President Barack Obama has not made a decision to order military strikes against the Syrian government in response to last week's alleged chemical weapons attack near Damascus, a senior administration official said on Tuesday.
The assertion by the US official, which echoed the White House's comments on Monday, came amid mounting signs that Washington and its allies are edging toward a limited use of force against Syrian President Bashar Assad's loyalists.
Western powers have told the Syrian opposition to expect a strike against Assad's forces within days, sources who attended a meeting between envoys and the Syrian National Coalition in Istanbul told Reuters earlier on Tuesday.
"The president has not made a decision to undertake military action," the US official in Washington told Reuters.

Arabische Liga macht Assad für Giftgasangriff verantwortlich...
ReplyDeleteDer Rat der Liga geht von Völkermord durch das syrische Regime aus und fordert Konsequenzen. Die USA wollen möglicherweise noch diese Woche einen Militärschlag beginnen.
Nach Einschätzung der Arabischen Liga ist die syrische Regierung für den mutmaßlichen Giftgasangriff nahe Damaskus verantwortlich. Das teilte der Staatenbund nach einem Treffen der Delegierten in Kairo mit.
Der Rat der Liga verurteilte "dieses abscheuliche Verbrechen". Gleichzeitig forderte er die Mitglieder des UN-Sicherheitsrates auf, "ihre Differenzen beizulegen, damit eindeutige Maßnahmen ergriffen werden können, die den Menschenrechtsverletzungen und dem Völkermord durch das syrische Regime ein Ende setzen".

Turkey urges response to 'crime against humanity' in Syria...
ReplyDeleteTurkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said a poison gas attack in Syria last week which killed hundreds of people constituted a "crime against humanity," as he is set leave for Saudi Arabia to discuss the regional crisis with Prince Saud bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The United States has faced growing calls for action in response to the August 21 attack. In the most forceful U.S. reaction yet, Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday President Barack Obama believed there must be "accountability" for those who used chemical weapons.
Davutoğlu told reporters: "This is a crime against humanity and a crime against humanity should not go unanswered, what needs to be done must be done." He said that like many states, Turkey blamed Bashar al-Assad's government for the attack.
