The coalition that
attacked ISIS in Syria overnight "makes it clear to the world that this
is not America's fight alone," and that governments in the Middle East
are rejecting ISIS, President Barack Obama said Tuesday.
The U.S. strikes against
"seasoned al Qaeda operatives in Syria" known as the Khorasan Group show
the United States will not tolerate safe havens for terrorists, he
said.
Obama said he has talked
to members of Congress about the overnight strikes in Syria, and that
there is bipartisan support for the actions.
President Obama plans to
speak Tuesday morning about the U.S. strategy against ISIS, following
overnight strikes in Syria, a White House official said.
The president will speak at 10 a.m. ET at the White House before leaving for New York.
The United States and
several Arab nations rained bombs on ISIS targets in Syria -- the first
U.S. military offensive in the war-torn country and a forceful message
to the militant group that the U.S. would not stand by idly while it
carried out its rampage of terror.
Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Qatar all assisted with the operation, the U.S. military said.....................http://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/23/world/meast/isis-airstrikes/

ReplyDeleteObama a confirmé que les Etats-Unis, avec la participation de la coalition des pays arabes (Arabie Saoudite, Emirats Arabes Unis, Jordanie, Bahreïn et Qatar) se concertaient les frappes contre les positions de l'Etat islamique en Syrie.
Plus tôt mardi, le porte-parole du département d'Etat américain Jen Psaki a reconnu que les Américains ne s’étaient pas concertés ces frappes avec Damas.
