India has kept vigilant along its coast off the western state of
Gujarat, days after four Pakistani militants blew themselves up when
their boat was intercepted by coast guards on the New Year Eve.
"The entire Gujarat coast is under surveillance, six to seven aircraft are continuously monitoring it and we are also vigilant," Indian Coast Guard's inspector general Kuldeep Singh Sheoran told the media on Saturday.
The official said the Coast Guard was continuing its search for the debris of the Pakistani boat and its occupants, but nothing had been found yet.
The Indian Defense Ministry said the Pakistani boat was " planning some illicit transaction in the Arabian Sea."
The Pakistani boat, which was allegedly sailing from Karachi, was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard on Wednesday after intelligence revealed that it was carrying "costly cargo" headed for India.
A fire started on the boat Thursday followed by an explosion. Four men were seen on the deck before it sank.
