Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the US Secretary of State John Kerry discussed in a telephone conversation on Monday the conflict in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"They discussed other international problems, including the conflict in Ukraine, and some bilateral issues," the ministry said.
"They discussed the situation in Syria, including possibilities of the Russian-American cooperation with the terrorist organizations, fighting there," the ministry said. "Lavrov once again highlighted it necessary to separate the Syrian anti-governmental forces focused on the US from the Jabhat Al-Nusra, which is involved in attacks hiding behind the "moderate" opposition's units. They also said it unacceptable the terrorists receive supplies across the open border with Turkey.".
"Lavrov offered condolences to the US Secretary of State following the bloodshed in Orlando, which claimed dozens victims," the ministry said.
