The Swiss refused guaranteed 2.2 thousand euros per month

Most of the Swiss voted against the introduction in the country of guaranteed monthly payments in the amount of 2.5 thousand francs (a little over 2.2 thousand euros). This is evidenced by the preliminary results of the referendum held on Sunday, June 5, reports “Interfax”.

As noted, for the introduction of payments voted only 18.2 percent of the citizens, it was opposed by 81,8 per cent of the Swiss. Preliminary data published by the Institute for public opinion research at the Swiss public TV and radio company.

Thus, participants of a referendum have decided that everyone in Switzerland should earn himself, and society will continue to function on the basis of the known principle “from each according to his ability, to each according to his work”.

Switzerland became the first country in the world, which holds a referendum on the question of the introduction of a guaranteed income. It was assumed that every adult Swiss citizen living in the country, will be entitled to guaranteed payment regardless of the presence of earnings. While 2.5 thousand francs make up about 60 percent of the average wages of the Swiss.

Switzerland is one of the richest countries on the planet. If I take out the dwarf States, it ranks first in the world in terms of GDP per capita is 82 thousand dollars at the end of 2015.
