Hollande visits front near Mosul, shows support for Kurdish forces

The French President on Monday visited the front line of the battle against the Islamic State terror group in Iraq and expressed his support for the Kurdish forces.


Francois Hollande arrived at Erbil, the northern Kurdish capital some 80 kilometers (50 miles) east of the embattled city of Mosul, as part of his official visit to Iraq along with Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, said a statement from the Kurdish-Iraqi presidency.
