The authors of the resolution on humanitarian issues in Syria, which is to be discussed at the UNSC meeting on Thursday evening, want to “shift the focus" from the peace process "to blaming the Syrian government in order to promote ‘plan B,’ namely overthrowing the regime in violation of resolution 2257,” Lavrov said at a news conference in Belgrade.
If the US continues to ignore Russia’s position, Moscow will have no other choice than to infer that the authors of the initiative “again want to put the blame on Damascus and provide cover for militant groups,” the minister added.

El objetivo de la resolución propuesta en la ONU parece consistir en derrocar al Gobierno sirio, ha expresado el ministro de Exteriores ruso, Serguéi Lavrov.
ReplyDeleteEn opinión del ministro, el objetivo de los que quieren adoptar esta resolución "sin tener en cuenta las enmiendas" de Rusia "no consiste en ayudar realmente a la población civil", sino intentar "desplazar el foco desde la necesidad de comenzar urgentemente las negociaciones en Ginebra" y culpar a Damasco "de todos los pecados para promover el llamado Plan B", que es el derrocamiento del Gobierno, violando así la resolución 2254 de la ONU.
