Romanian President Klaus Iohannis demanded an urgent investigation in connection with information that appeared in the Romanian media on Wednesday about the discovery of drone wreckage in the country, although earlier the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Ministry and Iohannis himself denied Kiev's statements that drone wreckage fell on Romanian territory.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Romanian television channel Antena-3, citing Defense Minister Angela Tylvara, reported that debris that could be parts of drones was found in the country. Tylvar stressed that the objects pose no danger.
On Monday night, an air raid alert was announced in the Odessa region in Ukraine, Ukrainian media reported explosions in the city of Izmail.
Romanian Defense Ministry spokesman Constantin Spinu told the AGERPRES news agency that the authorities were investigating the UAV wreckage. He also stressed that it was impossible to establish a causal link between the debris and previous attacks on Ukrainian targets on the border with Romania.
