Britain announced plans to station fighter jets in Poland for “protection from Russia”

The UK plans to station Typhoon fighters in Poland under the pretext of protection from Russia. This was stated by the country's Minister of Defense Grant Shapps at the Conservative Party convention on October 1.

“In response to a request from our Polish friends, our Air Force Typhoon is stationed in Poland to support our NATO ally against the increasing threat of Russian interference,” the minister said.

Shapps called this action a support for democracy in Poland ahead of the elections scheduled for October 15, 2023.
