Participants in the Cairo summit on Palestine will not accept the final statement due to disagreements between the Arab and European delegations, Sky News Arabia reported.
The Cairo Summit for Peace is being held on Saturday in the Egyptian capital of Cairo with the participation of more than 30 states and a number of international and regional organizations.
“There will be no final statement at the Cairo peace summit due to contradictions between the Arab and European delegations,” the channel said in a statement.
According to the channel's source, disagreements arose between the Arab and European delegations over the wording "Israel's right to self-defense" and the issue of condemning the Palestinian Hamas movement.
The office of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi released a statement saying Egypt was seeking international consensus in calling for the summit.
