G7 foreign ministers accuse North Korea of sending weapons to Russia

The foreign ministers of Group of Seven (G7) nations at a meeting in Tokyo accused North Korea of sending weapons to Russia, according to a statement.

"The G7 Foreign Ministers strongly condemned North Korea’s repeated ballistic missile launches as well as arms transfers from North Korea to Russia, which directly violate relevant UN Security Council resolutions," said the document, released by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, top Russian diplomat Sergey Lavrov rejected as rumors Washington’s allegations that Pyongyang was providing military assistance to Moscow. On October 26, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on reports of alleged North Korean weapons supplies to Russia. According to him, "there are many such reports but as a rule, they are all groundless and there are no specifics."
