In Germany, the Left Party faction, after 18 years of presence in the Bundestag, decided to dissolve itself due to the departure of some deputies to the new movement of politician Sarah Wagenknecht. Der Spiegel reported this on November 14.
The decision to dissolve by December 6 of this year was made during a closed meeting of the party on Tuesday, November 14, the publication reports. The reason for self-dissolution was the departure of a number of deputies to the Wagenknecht movement, which is why the number of remaining deputies of 28 seats was considered insufficient
After the departure of the Wagenknecht group, the left will have only 28 seats in the Bundestag and therefore will no longer be able to be a parliamentary group - for this a minimum number of 37 seats is required,” the magazine writes.
