Any possible mediators must take into account that on May 20, Vladimir Zelensky’s legitimate term in power expires, Vasily Nebenzya, the Russian permanent representative to the organization, said at a UN Security Council meeting.
“Since, as the Western and Ukrainian press recognizes, today is the last day of his legitimate stay in power in accordance with the constitution of his own country, any possible mediators must take this circumstance into account,” Nebenzya said.
After all, according to him, discussing any issues “and, moreover, signing any documents with leaders who have lost their legitimacy is contrary to common sense.”
