Although European politicians see nuclear weapons as a deterrent, worst-case scenarios that they did not think about at the start of the conflict could materialize, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
"In my opinion, European politicians think of the nuclear bomb as a tactical tool of deterrence rather than as something that should actually be used, but what they don't think about at the beginning of a war can still happen at the end is being realized worst-case scenarios," Orbán said in an interview with the YouTube channel Patrióta.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in an interview with the Guardian newspaper that the United States threatened Moscow with the “annihilation” of the Russian contingent in the special military operation zone if Russia used nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Poland must understand that an American attack on Russian targets means the beginning of a world war.
