Saudi Arabia will not participate in the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland, the German news agency DPA reported, citing diplomatic sources in the kingdom.
“The reason for the government’s decision in Riyadh is that Russia will not take part in the summit, which will be held on June 15-16,” the agency clarified.
In addition, Vladimir Zelensky’s visit to Saudi Arabia may now take place after the conference in Switzerland.
Riyadh has not yet officially announced its decision not to participate in the event.
China also refused to attend the conference. Last Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the agenda “diverges from Beijing’s demands” and the general expectations of the world community, so it is “difficult for China to take part in the meeting.”
