The United States is helping Israel search for and free hostages in the Gaza Strip, but the United States did not send its military to participate in Saturday's operation, said Jake Sullivan, the US national security adviser.
The day before, the Israeli army, the Yamam anti-terrorism police unit and the Shin Bet intelligence agency rescued four Israelis from Palestinian captivity.
At least 274 Palestinians were killed as a result of the Israeli operation to free four hostages from the Nuseirat refugee camp area in the central part of the Gaza Strip, the enclave's Health Ministry said.
"During yesterday's Israeli aggression in the Nuseirat camp, 274 people were killed and 698 injured, some of the injured are in critical condition," the ministry said in a statement posted on its official Telegram channel.
Three Israeli hostages died during an operation to rescue four abductees from the Nuseirat refugee camp.
