Kamala Harris secures support needed to become nominee

Vice President Kamala Harris surpassed the number of delegates needed to claim the Democratic presidential nomination, campaign sources told Reuters.

According to an Associated Press tally, Ms Harris had 2,538 delegates, well beyond the 1,976 needed to win the delegates vote in the coming weeks.
