Netanyahu on the UN court decision: the Jewish people are not invaders on their land

Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the conclusion of the International Court of Justice, which demanded an end to settlement activity in the Palestinian territories and payment of reparations for their occupation.

The Israeli prime minister wrote on social network X that “the Jewish people are not conquerors of their land.”

“Neither our eternal capital Jerusalem, nor the heritage of our ancestors in Judea and Samaria (West Bank),” he explained.

According to Netanyahu, “not a single false decision in The Hague will distort this historical truth.”
“The legality of Israeli settlements throughout our homeland is beyond doubt,” the Israeli Prime Minister said.

The top UN court ruled Israel’s settlement policy in the West Bank and east Jerusalem violates international law, as it delivered a non-binding advisory opinion on the legality of Israel’s 57-year occupation of lands sought for a Palestinian state.

The court found Israel's transfer of settlers to these areas violates the Fourth Geneva Convention, the court also found that Israel’s use of natural resources was “inconsistent” with its obligations under international law as an occupying power.
