The men's triathlon at the Paris Olympics has been postponed because of concerns over water quality in the River Seine.
Swimming training for the triathletes was cancelled on Sunday and Monday and the decision has been taken to move the men's race, which had been due to start at 8am local time today, to Wednesday.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the men's triathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympics has been postponed to Wednesday due to poor water quality levels in the River Seine, Olympic officials announced. The E.coli levels remained too elevated for athletes to safely compete.
ReplyDeleteThe decision is a blow to organisers who previously said they were confident water quality would improve in time for the race after heavy rains last Friday and Saturday dirtied the river.
ReplyDeleteThe 55 triathletes who were primed to compete on Tuesday now face more uncertainty.
