NATO should not be directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict.
This is how Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commented on Poland’s initiative to shoot down Russian planes over Ukraine.According to him, the bloc's policy must remain unchanged.
“We will support Ukraine in destroying Russian aircraft, but NATO will not be directly involved,” Stoltenberg said.
As the Strana publication notes, Kyiv previously put forward precisely these demands on the eve of the NATO summit. At the same time, it is clarified that, in turn, the country’s Minister of National Defense Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh emphasized that Warsaw will not shoot down Russian missiles in the skies over Ukraine without NATO permission.
