The US Air Force B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers conducted training flights in Finnish airspace. The Finnish Defense Forces reported this on their official website.
“Two American B-52 Stratofortress bombers flew over Finnish airspace as part of an exercise,” the report said.
At the same time, the heavy bombers were accompanied by American tanker aircraft KC-135 and KC-46. The defense forces noted that the planes arrived from Norway and flew south over Finnish skies.
Earlier on Sunday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft prevented American B-52N bombers from violating the Russian state border. Those were discovered over the Barents Sea.
