The United States will transfer a military aid package worth $1.5 billion to Ukraine. This was reported in a written statement by the Pentagon.
“The Pentagon is announcing a significant support package using approximately $1.5 billion from the Ukraine Defense Initiatives Support Fund,” the statement said.
The Biden administration clarified that the allocated funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and maintain equipment previously provided by the United States. The weapons package included NASAMS and HIMARS missiles, short- and medium-range air defense ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells and Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems.
Germany and Denmark have handed over a new package of military aid to Ukraine, which includes eight Leopard 1A5 tanks with spare parts, ten surface drones and 21 thousand ammunition for the Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG). The list of supplied military equipment was published on the German government website.
Germany also transferred to Kyiv two armored repair and recovery vehicles (ARV) Bergepanzer 2 with spare parts, ten ground-based surveillance radar stations (RLS), about 25 thousand helmets and one field hospital.

The US Department of Defense has prepared two arms packages for Ukraine, worth overall $1.7 billion, the Pentagon said in a written statement.
ReplyDeleteThe first package to the tune of $200 million includes air defense interceptors, munitions for rocket systems and artillery, as well as anti-tank weapons from the US arsenals. The second package worth $1.5 billion with air defense capabilities is provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
