Safety at Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is deteriorating following a drone strike that hit a perimeter access road on Saturday, according to International Atomic Energy Agency director general Rafael Mariano Grossi.
The Russian management of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant said a Ukraine drone dropped an explosive charge on a road used by staff, the TASS news agency reported earlier.
Russia on Saturday accused Ukraine of conducting a drone attack on the road near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, posing a threat to the security of the plant.
ReplyDelete"At 7:00 a.m. today (0400 GMT), a Ukrainian drone dropped a bomb on the road that runs along the power units from the outside of the perimeter. The staff is constantly moving along this road. Nobody was injured. But a direct threat to the safety of personnel and the station has been created again," the nuclear power plant said in a statement on Telegram.
The International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors have been informed about the incident, said the statement.
The Ukraine side has not responded to the accusation yet.
