The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Italian Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni due to the illegal entry of Italian journalists into the Kursk region to cover the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The message states that a strong protest was expressed to the ambassador in connection with the actions of the film crew of the Italian radio company. It is noted that Russian legislation and basic rules of journalistic ethics have been grossly violated.
“Italian correspondents used their stay on the territory of our country to whitewash propaganda support for the crimes of the Kyiv regime,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The actions of Italian journalists fall under the criminal code of the Russian Federation. The competent authorities establish the circumstances in order to make a legal assessment and take appropriate measures.
