The Netherlands has allowed Ukraine to use Western-supplied weapons, including F-16 fighter jets, to attack Russian territory. This was stated by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).
According to him, Ukraine has the right to use weapons in accordance with international law for its self-defense, and for this there are no restrictions on the range of strikes.
Brekelmans noted that Ukraine could use F-16s to strike Russian territory, but he declined to divulge details about the deployment and use of these aircraft.
“We don’t want to make Russia smarter than it is now,” he said.
The Netherlands will provide Kyiv with missiles, spare parts and equipment for the F-16 worth 80 million euros.
Previously, Brekelmans stated that Ukraine should not use the F-16 to strike civilian targets on Russian territory.
Амстердам разрешил Вооруженным силам Украины (ВСУ) использовать западное оружие, включая истребители F-16, для нанесения ударов по территории России. Об этом заявил министр обороны Нидерландов Рубен Брекелманс, сообщает Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).
