Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that guarantees for Russia from Ukraine may be solely a result of a US order to Volodymyr Zelensky.
"We will need clear guarantees, and there may be guarantees, given the sad experience of agreements with Kiev, guarantees may be solely the result of an order from Washington to Zelensky and his team to do one way and not another," Lavrov said.
European countries directly contradict the position of the administration of US President Donald Trump, which talks about the preliminary parameters for the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, Sergey Lavrov has said.
"They directly contradict the Trump administration, which through the mouth of the president himself, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Waltz clearly said that now there are preliminary negotiations on the parameters of the final settlement," Lavrov said.
The United States understands that only Washington can get Kiev to stop terrorist attacks and shelling of civilian targets in Russia, the minister said.
"Without them [Western states], Ukraine would have been defeated long ago ... But you see, both London and Paris are pumping Ukraine with weapons," Lavrov added.
Russia and the US, first of all, discussed in Riyadh issues of the safe navigation in the Black Sea, Lavrov said.

Russian negotiators in Riyadh urged the United States to consider the reasons behind the failure of the Black Sea initiative, emphasizing that Moscow would not tolerate any ambiguity regarding proposals related to the Black Sea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Channel One.

The United States said on Tuesday it has made separate agreements with Ukraine and Russia to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea and to implement a ban on strikes against energy facilities in the two countries.

Russia will not resume the grain deal in the Black Sea without lifting of sanctions on its ships and supplies of agricultural machinery, the Kremlin said in the official statement after talks between expert groups of Moscow and Washington in Riyadh.
ReplyDeleteLifting of "restrictions on port servicing of ships and sanctions on ships under the Russian flag, engaged in food (including fish) and fertilizer trade" is indicated among conditions for resumption of agreements.
One more condition is lifting of "restrictions of agricultural machinery supplies and other goods used in food (including fish products) and fertilizer production," the Kremlin noted.
Washington will facilitate restoration of the access of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to the international market, the statement indicates.
